“A Southern Tea”

Before the War, Southern ladies took pleasure in entertaining friends and family, so dress in your “Sunday Best” (Hats & Fascinators encouraged but not required) and accompany us for an elegant and relaxing Afternoon High Tea. We won’t be under the shade of old plantation oaks but in a lovely private room of the Tea Leaves and Thyme teahouse in historic Woodstock.

Tea will be served by gracious Southern ladies in a charming setting which will transport you to a bygone time of elegant teapots and afternoon tea dresses. While savoring the pleasing bouquets of teas and delectable tea sandwiches, scones and sweet morsels, we will be entertained by a visitor from 1862 who will relate to us the joys and the trials of Southern Ladies of the Civil War. Before departure, there will be time for shopping in the teahouse gift shop!

  • Departure from Clarence Brown Conference Center at 1:00 pm.
  • Departure from Teahouse at 4:00 pm to return to Conference Center.

“Gone With The Wind Tour”

Join us as we travel to historic Marietta to visit the Gone With The Wind Museum located in the 1851 Brumby Hall. The charming museum houses an extensive collection of memorabilia relating to the world’s most beloved book and Hollywood movie. Some highlights include the Bengaline honeymoon gown worn by Vivian Leigh, Margaret Mitchell’s personal volumes of the novel, and original scripts and contracts of the cast members. You’ll want to visit the gift shop to take home a GWTW souvenir!

A trip to Marietta would not be complete without shopping on the historic square. We’ll visit Park West Vintage, a large antique mall originally built in the 1800s as a feed and seed store. To complete our tour, we will pay our respects at the Marietta Confederate Cemetery, the final resting place of more than 3,000 Confederate Soldiers.
